Please do not polish
Cleaning can remove collector value permanently. Coins that are toned, dull or dirty are best left the way they are today.
Keep sets in one piece
A coin in its original holder or Mint packaging is easier to identify, and a set is best kept whole rather than divided.
Have your photo ID with you
We ask for a photo ID at every appointment, so it is worth checking you have it before you set off up Thompson Street.
Gather the paperwork
Old receipts, certificates and handwritten lists tell us what a collection was meant to be.
At the appointment
The time is reserved for you alone. We look at each piece with you, explain what it is and why it matters, and then make an offer.
If the offer does not suit you, you are welcome to decline it and keep everything. Selling a few pieces and keeping the rest is also perfectly fine.

Silver bars, gold bars and one-ounce rounds from any mint or refiner. We go over the stamped weight and purity with you.

Coins a relative left behind, sorted or not. Anyone helping you settle things is welcome to come to the appointment with you.

Class rings, wedding bands and chains that are no longer worn. A single earring is welcome as well.

Is Thompson Street the easiest way up from Springdale?
From most of downtown, yes. Thompson Street is US 71B, and it turns into Bloomington Street once you reach Lowell. Turn right on Monroe Avenue, then right again on South Lincoln Street.
May I bring coins that are dirty or tarnished?
Yes. Please do not clean them first. Toning and grime are part of an old coin, while polishing leaves marks that cannot be taken back.
What do I need to bring besides the coins?
Your photo ID. If the coins came with holders, receipts, certificates or a written list, bring those along as well.
