Bullion is a metal product
Where a collectible coin is evaluated for its date, mintmark, and condition, bullion is evaluated for its metal. The questions are simpler and more physical: how much gold or silver is here, how pure is it, and do the markings and form match a recognizable product? That keeps a bullion evaluation direct.
What we buy

How a bullion evaluation works
- Weight
- Each piece is weighed. A stated one ounce and an actual one ounce are confirmed rather than assumed.
- Purity
- Fineness stamped on the bar or round — such as .999 or .9999 — is confirmed as part of the picture.
- Markings & form
- Mint or refiner marks, serial numbers where present, and the overall form help confirm what a piece is.

How is bullion valued differently from collectible coins?
Bullion is valued as a metal product — its weight, purity, and markings — rather than by date and mintmark. The metal content does most of the work, with recognizable brands and forms handled straightforwardly.
What markings should be on my bars and rounds?
Most bars and rounds show the metal, weight, and purity (for example, 1 oz .999 fine), and often a mint or refiner name. We check those markings in person as part of the evaluation.
Do you need the original assay cards or packaging?
They are not required, but bring them if you have them. Intact assay cards and packaging can make some bars easier to verify.
Do you buy both gold and silver bullion?
Yes. Gold and silver bars, rounds, and bullion coins are all considered, checked for weight, purity, and markings during the appointment.
