Five details that shape a coin's value.

A collection can hold both collector value and precious-metal value. Identity, date, mintmark, condition, and current demand help distinguish the two.

An inherited collection deserves a careful look.

It's common to inherit coins with no notes, no list, and no idea what's rare and what's spare change. A little care before you sell protects whatever value is there.

Do you give formal written appraisals?

No. We provide a purchase evaluation while considering coins, gold, silver, or a collection for sale. That is not a formal written appraisal for insurance, probate, or tax purposes.

Will you make an offer on everything I bring?

Not always. Whether we can make an offer, and on what, depends on what we see. Not every old coin is rare or in demand, and we'll tell you plainly when something is closer to face or melt value.

Do I need an appointment?

Yes. We meet sellers by appointment, Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm, so we can give your coins proper attention.

What should I bring?

Bring the coins, gold, silver, bullion, or collection you'd like looked at, along with any holders, folders, boxes, or records you have for them.

Do you buy foreign coins?

Where appropriate, yes — foreign coins are considered alongside U.S. coins, particularly within a mixed collection.

How do you tell collector value from metal value?

We read each coin's identity, date, mintmark, and condition, then weigh that against its metal content. Some coins are worth more as collectibles; others are valued mainly for their gold or silver. We explain which applies to yours.
